Brandon's Blog
Hi, I am Brandon Vallecillo, and I am a student in this class of music and diverse cultures. I never really played an instrument or was into music or bands like that, but I really enjoy listening to music and hearing different types of sounds from different areas. I grew up in Greer, SC but moved to Campobello in 5th grade so I had a new and fresh start my 6th grade year with new people and a new environment. I play soccer which is the best sport of all time in my opinion, and I am in the Men's soccer program for Converse University. My favorite team is Real Madrid, and I have played soccer for almost my whole life.
The one in black and yellow is me.
I've traveled to some places which include Denver, Spain, Chicago, Wisconsin, and more, but some of them involved soccer and tournaments.
1. An example of music I like:
- Something that I always look forward to listening in the car or on my headphones is Tyler, the creator and his songs. I remember one time; I was on my way to one of my soccer games for a tournament that we were in, and we were in the car. I had my headphones on listening to music and the next song that played after the one that was done was "Colossus" from Tyler, the creator. At that time, I knew every lyric to the song, so I started rapping away as soon as it started to play. And so, for me, I always get a good feeling and sensation of happiness when Tyler starts to play and so later that day, in my game we ended up winning and I also ended up playing really amazing. You feel good, you play good. (I would advise not to play)
2. An example of music that's important to me:
I have several but I think the most important one to me or the one that reminds me of that day when hearing it is "All of me" by John Legend. My parents got married to this song so whenever it plays, I just tell my mom and dad hey look it's the song you guys got married to. But I think it is a beautiful song as well and I believe it is an important song to me. I guess.
3. Music I do not connect with really:
I like music, and I don't see any type of music wrong or bad. But I could say that one that doesn't connect with me I guess, would be hard rock or something like that. It doesn't fit my style and also, some tend to get super crazy, and it gets to a point where I don't seem to understand anything. Sometimes though it does not have to be heard when you're going out in your car or listening to music on your headphones, but when you're in the gym, some people find the music helpful when weightlifting and getting the weight up. Almost like music to be focused and concentrated. For example, whenever the beat drops or something like that. Most though still listen to rap or hip-hop or something in between.

Hey Brandon! I think it's really cool that you travelled to all those places! I have listened to Tyler the Creator before and I am a big fan of his Chromakopia album. Aside from that, "all of me" is a really good song and I have good memories surrounding that song and John Legend in general. I also sort of agree with hard rock like Slipknot, but Pierce the Veil and Flyleaf are good artists to listen to!😛
ReplyDeleteYeah, I get you. John Legend is smooth, Tyler ain't for everyone, and Slipknot is just too much. Heavy metal and rock just don’t hit for me either. All of me John Legend is a go to for your girlfriend to like just to make her feel good.
ReplyDeleteHello Brandon! I don't know how "All of Me" did not come to my mind while making my own blog. That was one of my favorite songs to sing and every time it would come on in the car, I would sing my heart out. Thank you for reminding me of such a good song.
